Happy Orange Thursday, friends! This is the second post of the game day inspired series! The first outfit I posted was a cute dress option for an OU game, you can find it here. So, naturally on this beautiful college game day an orange look just seems right! This top comes off as a coral (ish) color in the photos but it’s truly orange. This look is laid back and comfortable. Perfect for tailgating and rooting on the Cowboys! Enjoy and go pokes!

Hey friends! Happy Tuesday. Yesterday we celebrated Billy’s 27th birthday! I cannot believe we are so old. When I was a teenager, I thought I would have kids and a big house by 26. But now, I’m just trying to take things day by day. We’re extremely happy about where we are in life right now. We’ve both been employed at jobs we love for over a year. Billy works as a relationship banker at First United Bank and I’m a social worker at Norman Regional Hospital. We’re very happy with where our careers are. I’m under supervision for my clinical license and love my mentor/supervisor Whitney. We have a cute little home in Norman with our fur babes. Life is good. I couldn’t ask for anything more. We are so thankful for our health, our family and one another.
Billy is an easy guy to please. I took him to Saltgrass for dinner (his preference). We came home and he watched football on TV. Pretty much his idea of a perfect night. Good steak and football, who can blame the guy? I’ve linked the outfit I wore to our date down below. This blush/rose top is flowy perfection. I definitely recommend sizing once size down. It’s originally $140 and on sale for $98!

I know it’s hard to begin thinking of fall outfits considering it’s 90 degrees out, ha! But, I’m a believer that you can never be too prepared. Personally, I typically seem to find the best fall finds in July and August. If I find a good deal on a sweater or pair of boots, I snag them immediately because I know come October or November, they’ll be sold out. Growing up my mom only let me shop the current season. I know it’s because I got bored with clothes once the new wore off, so if I bought it to wear the next season, I probably wouldn’t like it anymore once that season came. But, as an adult, I’ve found that you find the best deals and styles before the season even begins. Most of the time, anyway. I think a big part of this, is because of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I bought so many cute things but haven’t been able to share them until now because so many things sell out so quickly. One of my favorite pieces, is this Halogen Cashmere Poncho. Even though it’s not on sale, I still consider it to be pretty affordable for cashmere. It’s perfectly oversized and cozy for cold weather. I can’t wait to wear this in fall. Happy Monday! I wanted to fill you all in on something going on in my professional life! Recently I accepted an offer to participate in what my department is calling a “Teacher Plan”. Our hospital’s census typically dips pretty low in the summer, so you have all of these full-time employees with not much work to do (this is tricky because sometimes you can have a small amount of patients, but they have complex and numerous needs). But the thought behind it is, to help with productivity issues, one employee will be off 8 weeks during the summer, returning September 11th. I eagerly volunteered! I keep my title, position, benefits, etc., but I get some much needed time away from work. Being a social worker is so emotionally rewarding but also extremely exhausting. I thought this teacher plan would be the perfect way to practice some self-care. I’m so excited to have some time off. Once upon a time I considered becoming a teacher (not because I have a passion for teaching) but just so I could get the summer off. Lol. I plan to relax, take a couple of trips, and become more diligent in posting on my blog and Instagram. I can’t wait to see what this little break from work has in store! I’ll keep you guys posted!
Also, I’m sharing this dress below! I bought mine at Cayman’s in Norman, OK. But it’s also available online.
